I support this initiative wholeheartedly, and I’ve decided to post this video on my blog to lend whatever support I can and spread the word:
What the NFL is doing to Colin Kaepernick is cowardly and simply unfair.
First, I am proud of the Adventist church (particularly the pastors in Huntsville, AB) for spearheading this silent protest.
Secondly, I am proud of the Black church for their leadership and for taking a stand.
Far too often, the church is silent while its members are being persecuted. For once (finally!) the church has shown up and is leading the charge.
The #BlackOut movement advocates four action steps:
- Boycott the NFL (no games, no fantasy football, no jerseys, no nothing).
- Commit one to two hours during the NFL season that you would have spent watching games to mentoring young black boys and girls.
- Spread the word to others.
- “Take a knee” in prayer at 6 a.m. each day.
I don’t even watch football (the Superbowl always competes with my birthday in February 😣
😡
😠), but regardless — I can get behind this.
🏈
Support Colin Kaepernick. Take the time we would have spent watching football and pour it back into our communities. Stop making spineless people rich while we suffer.
I love this. I love this. I love this. ❤
