If I’m going to be single at age 45 or up, I want to be like Tracee Ellis Ross.
Part of the issue of long-term singleness into older adulthood is that we don’t really know what that looks like — or rather, we don’t have many positive, inspiring role models.
We know what 30 and married looks like. We know what 45 and married looks like. But we don’t know what 45 and single (and thriving!!!) looks like — we don’t have many examples — so when we think of a 45-year-old never-married woman, we think of cats and tissues and vibrators and shattered dreams.
(Or at least I do.)
But Tracee Ellis Ross challenges us to revisit and revise that misconception, and shows us that singleness at 45 can be happy, confident and sexy.
